Merry Christmas!
I hope that residents enjoy Christmas in the style they love, be it with friends and family enjoying an eating fest, or enjoying a quite day at home. My thoughts are with those in our community who are self-isolating with covid, may you get better soon and only have the mildest of symptoms and for those that find this time of year a little difficult, may you find some peaceful moments and know you are surrounded by a close community.
On more pragmatic matters, many want to know when to put the prawn heads out for garbage collection, when the chemist reopens and who to phone if we have further storms, so I’ve compiled some information below.
GARBAGE COLLECTION:
Council staff have advised garbage services will be as normal for the Christmas week, but will be delayed by one day in the New Year week.
HEALTH CARE:
Scone Medical Practice is closed from midday Friday, December 24 until Monday, January 3, 2022 and will reopen with normal hours on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
Scott Memorial Hospital, Scone: there will be no on-call doctor during the Christmas – New Year period. Muswellbrook Hospital is the nearest hospital with on-call doctor during this period.
Ambulance: In city areas ambulance are often called to trivial matters, which is frustrating, but in country areas ambulance staff say we are too stoic and often delay calling an ambulance when we should phone earlier. There are local ambulance staff always at the ready to provide care, even on Christmas Day.
